Just an opinion. Most of the patients we are seeing at this juncture for elective procedures might as well be considered unvaccinated, they not only have never received a booster, the only series received was when the vaccine was first available. If the vaccine is to be considered as effective as flu vaccine then a majority have no protection. NJ no longer requires testing before an elective procedure “ if the patient was vaccinated “. Basically we are left to just assume everyone has Covid, as we did in the days of early AIDS, best practice everyone has it take appropriate precautions. Quietly they’re urging people to wear masks again, but most will not, having had recent Covid myself it wasn’t the run of the mill cold, I will avoid reinfection at all costs. Sadly, I suspect we’re chasing our tail.
